Pitkerro Care Centre is a purpose-built residential care home on Pitkerro Road in Dundee, a short distance from the picturesque town centre.

Our Ethos

We are committed to providing a caring environment that promotes every person’s independence, privacy, dignity, freedom of choice, rights, and personal fulfilment.

Our staff will work closely with you to develop a personal care plan that outlines the personal needs and preferences of every resident.

Our staff are on hand 24 hours a day and have strong experience to draw on. Pitkerro also prides itself in providing on-going training for all staff, to keep up to date with new care methods and innovations.

If you or your loved one comes to live here with us at Pitkerro, you and your family will always receive a quality service from everyone that works within the home.

We actively encourage family, friends, and contacts to support and visit on a regular basis.

About the Property

Our home has 70 beds over two floors comprising residential, respite, nursing and dementia care.

The building and gardens are easily accessible in all areas, allowing plenty of options for residents to find company or a quiet corner depending on their wishes.

We all welcome you, your family and friends to the care centre and we hope that you settle well into your new home.

I have progressed professionally throughout my career and have vast experience as a home manager. Ground basketball More physical games this afternoon at Pitkerro to keep that body moving. A great game of ground basketball was played and as always the competition was fierce!!
Bringing back memories Pitkerro is a care home like no other. We recently purchased some outdoor play activities for when children visit their grandparents or one of the local schools visits. However, our residents Kathleen, Amy and May were not having that and wanted to try the see-saw out for themselves 😂😂 We’re all kids really, just in bigger bodies.
How many would you score We like to keep residents as fit as they wish and a great game for this whilst having fun is hoop throwing. Hand eye coordination is key, we always like to practice activities that help keep us strong.
The weekend and welcome…. Busty again this weekend at Pitkerro Care Centre. Our residents sure know how to keep us in our toes!! Also it’s a welcome to team Pitkerro , Doris, Betty and Frank. They look forward to bring sunshine to our outdoor space.

We’ve been to Iceland Well the supermarket over the road, not the country!! Our residents at Pitkerro, wanted to stretch their legs this morning and get a bit of retail therapy, so we had a trip to Iceland, to see what we could see.
Candy floss It’s not everyday that you get to spin your own sugar into candy floss. However, our residents at Pitkerro have been doing just that. Fantastic
Raising money for Dementia UK Our resident at Pitkerro Care Centre, Maggie, was super thrilled with her relative walking 38 miles for Dementia UK and raising £856 Super job and very well done for a very great cause 👏
Over the weekend We don’t stop at Pitkerro Care Centre, just because it’s a weekend. Every day we ensure that our residents wellbeing is at the forefront of everything we do. We especially love the sunny weather cure in Dundee, so we get outside as much as possible.
Out and about in Dundee Yesterday we met up with the Dundee Dragons Wheelchair Sports Club again, to give a couple more residents, Rab and Helen, a ride on the fantastic bikes. As always they loved it. Many thanks from us at Pitkerro Care Centre
#nationalyoyoday Yesterday was National Yo-yo day and like most things we love to celebrate nearly everything at Pitkerro Care Centre. Our residents loved playing, like they did in younger years, with the yo-yos. 🪀
Tai Chi This morning at Pitkerro Care Centre, we turned our hand to the old Chinese art of Tai Chi. Not only does the movements get your blood pumping, it’s also great for the mind and soul. Want to join us for a session?

Pairing plates A game to get the memory working at Pitkerro this afternoon. Residents took turn in choosing a couple of plates and had to remember what numbers were underneath
Can’t stop the beat!! Our residents at Pitkerro love a great workout and this morning we’ve been making sure that the beat doesn’t stop with some fantastic drumming. A great physical workout and keeping the beat works wonders for our residents and the best thing about it is that they have loads of fun 🥁
Re-potting the plants Our residents at Pitkerro love a bit of gardening, it's what everyone is used to doing. So, when it was time to re-pot some of the plants for summer blooms, our residents got stuck in. Cannot wait to see them grow 🌷🪻🌹🪷🌺🌸🌼🌻
Making candy floss We try and give our residents at Pitkerro Care Centre, new ideas and creativity to do things that they might not have previously done. This morning was no exception, as we (tried) to make candy floss. As you can see, some were better at it than others
Dundee Bairns 👶 We had our first baby session this morning at Pitkerro Care Centre with the Dundee Bairns. It was wonderful to see how magical a baby snuggle truly is, our youngest baby visitor was a sparkly 6 weeks old 🥰 such a special morning 👶🏼 We cannot wait until our next snuggles
Over the weekend Our residents have had a blast this past weekend at Pitkerro Care Centre. As the weather has been kind ☀️ we spent a great deal of it outside. As well as keeping fit with a bit of walking 🚶 and boxing 🥊
Out and about in Dundee. Our residents, once again, had a wonderful time with Dundee Dragons Wheelchair Sports Club. Getting out in the fresh air, riding those bikes and generally having so much fun. We love it 🥰

Happy birthday Colin. Colin celebrated his 86th birthday with all our residents yesterday at Pitkerro Care Centre. His two daughters, Lynda and Fiona also came in to join in the celebrations. By the look on his face he definitely enjoyed his day. Happy cake day Colin 🎂🎁🎉

Trip out to Iceland Our residents were feeling the heat in this fantastic weather at Pitkerro, so we had a trip over to Iceland (the supermarket, not the country) to fetch some ice creams for everyone. 🍦
#NationalBarbecueDay What a scorcher to celebrate National Barbecue Day 🍖 Staff and residents mopped up the sunshine ☀️ with some great burgers, hotdogs and fries. Outside in the garden with friends. We’re loving it!! 🥰 🍔 🌭 🍟 🥤
Eyes down for Bingo. We've been playing one of our favourites this morning at Pitkerro Care Centre. Yes, Bingo was in the house and we had joint winners this week, Rab and Sylvia. However neither wanted to pose for a photo with the winnings!!!
Outdoors and bubble fun! It’s still blue skies above here in Dundee, so our residents here at Pitkerro caught some more sunshine and had a bit of bubble fun.
Hudson Breakfast Like every month, we celebrated our heritage with a Canadian inspired breakfast. As you can see here at Pitkerro Care Centre, all our residents enjoyed it. We also have a competition who this month was won by Holly in Claverhouse getting her prize from Jennifer 🏆
Dancing at the disco 🪩 It’s a favourite of ours at Pitkerro Care Centre. We just love getting up and having a boogie 🕺 💃 Not only is it great for the body, it’s also wonderful for brining back memories
#NationalDanceLikeAChickenDay We do not do things by half’s at Pitkerro Care Centre. Today with the help of our little friend from Butterflies Nursery Schools we celebrated National Dance Like A Chicken Day. (Yes, read that again!!). We had so much fun putting feathers on the chickens, bubble chasing, birdie dancing and duck splatting. Thank you for coming to see us 👋 Happy National Dance Like A Chicken Day everyone
Pilates at Pitkerro Our residents had a real treat this morning when JM Pilates joined us for some morning exercises. Nothing better than getting th body moving.

Dominoes club It’s an afternoon of dominoes at Pitkerro Care centre. The old pub game is quickly becoming a favourite of our residents. No knocking now!!
Outdoors ☀️ Great weather again today in Dundee, so, once again, we’ve ventured outside for a spot of vitamin D and a cuppa tea. We also had a couple of games whilst we passed the time away. Chat and relax
