Scarecrow Competition To kick off Autumn festivities, Hudson Healthcare ran an inter-Home scarecrow competition in the month of October! All Homes were delighted to get involved and took this as an opportunity to collaborate with residents to produce creative takes on scarecrows. There were two themes, one being superhero scarecrows and the other scarecrows ‘at work,’ which gave the Homes a chance to be as creative as possible. The Homes collaborated with different external organisations, from local farmers, to nursery children and many more. Thank you for all those who helped execute this…we could not have done it without you! A big congratulations to Pitkerro who won the competition! Scarecrow Competition In the run-up to Halloween and as part of our Autumn festivities, Hudson Healthcare ran an inter-Home scarecrow competition in the month of October! We here at Pitkerro took this competition very seriously and wanted to have all residents and staff as involved as possible. We initially held a ballot to decide our favourite scarecrow design, with more than one idea winning the vote. We then reached out to our local community for hay donations, which was generously answered by a local farmer. Our ‘Help Wanted’ poster resulted in donations of other materials such as clothes and wigs, which we were delighted to receive. Our construction phase brought everyone into the mix with all hands on deck! Our wonderful residents helped make the heads of the scarecrows and the spider’s web, with staff and children from Butterflies Nursery helping to create the scarecrows' bodies. All visitors were looped in to help out! Our final product was a great collaborative effort that wowed residents, staff and relatives, and we were delighted to be named winners of the Hudson Scarecrow Competition! This was a fantastic experience for all involved and we are incredibly proud and grateful to all who helped.
