Meet the Manager

Having 14 years of experience in the health/social care sector provides me with the necessary grounding and knowledge to embark on this exciting journey at Harbour Residential. I have been a qualified nurse since 2007, completing my training at the University of the West of England.

I have held various roles in the NHS at both the Bristol General Hospital and Bristol Royal Infirmary, including as Senior Staff Nurse and Clinical Site Manager. After 10 years at the NHS, I then transitioned into the care home industry, working at 3 local care homes in Clinical Service Manager and HM roles.

I pride myself on achieving and maintaining high ratings with the CQC at all the homes I have worked at. Ensuring the consistent provision of the highest quality care and support possible to residents, staff and relatives is my priority.

It is a privilege to be a part of the Harbour Residential team and I very much look forward to meeting you all.

Scarecrow Competition To kick off Autumn festivities, Hudson Healthcare ran an inter-Home scarecrow competition in the month of October! All Homes were delighted to get involved and took this as an opportunity to collaborate with residents to produce creative takes on scarecrows. There were two themes, one being superhero scarecrows and the other scarecrows ‘at work,’ which gave the Homes a chance to be as creative as possible. The Homes collaborated with different external organisations, from local farmers, to nursery children and many more. Thank you for all those who helped execute this…we could not have done it without you! A big congratulations to Pitkerro who won the competition! Have a look at the fabulous scarecrows that were made across the Homes below 😊 Pitkerro - Spiderman & Nurse Sandiacre - Superman & Robin Hood Lornebank - Spiderman & Gordon Ramsay Harbour - Fireman & an Anchor-man

Scarecrow Competition In the run-up to Halloween and as part of our Autumn festivities, Hudson Healthcare ran an inter-Home scarecrow competition in the month of October! We here at Harbour Care Centre were delighted to get involved and wanted it to be as collaborative a project as possible. Our idea, based around jobs by our residents, was to make two scarecrows. One scarecrow would be a fireman and the other an anchorman! Our final product was a great collaborative effort that wowed residents, staff and relatives! This was a fantastic experience for all involved and we are incredibly proud and grateful to all who helped. We would like to extend our congratulations to the winning Home, Pitkerro Care Centre, and watch out for next year’s competition.

Glowing Report from CQC! We are delighted to share that we have been awarded a ‘Good’ rating in all areas from the Care Quality Commission (‘CQC’) following a recent inspection. This is a testament to the continued hard work and dedication of our incredible staff team, as well as the support by our residents’ families, friends and the wider community. Our Home Manager, Wayne Price, commented “We constantly seek to improve in everything that we do, and will continue to do so. Our utmost priority remains the care and comfort of our residents and we are so pleased that our team’s continued hard work and efforts to provide this have been recognised within the report. We are also pleased to share that this report has appeared alongside our Home commencing the provision of nursing care as we expand our offering. We have welcomed an experienced nursing team to the Harbour family and have begun accepting nursing enquiries, in addition to the residential, dementia and respite care we already provide. We are so grateful for the local community’s continued support, and hope to see you at our Home’s recently refurbished café very soon to celebrate with us!” A big thank you to Amber Hill at the North Somerset Times for her wonderful piece on this exciting news, which can be seen here!
